BRIGHT FUTURE FOR WOADY YALOAK RECREATION RESERVE
Member for Ballarat Catherine King today joined with Golden Plains Shire Councillor, Emma Robbins and local sporting groups to officially open the upgraded Woady Yaloak Recreation Reserve in Smythesdale.
The $550,000 project was fully funded by the Albanese Labor Government, and has delivered upgrades to the existing lighting at the football oval and installed new lighting over the netball and tennis courts.
The upgrades will improve safety and accessibility and mean that more activities and games can be scheduled at the Reserve.
It will also boost capacity for clubs and community groups to host more events and competitions, which will have flow on benefits for the local economy and create more opportunities for residents to come together.
This project ensures the reserve is a safer, well-lit and welcoming environment, for community members of all walks to enjoy – whether an aspiring professional player getting practice in, or families with children looking to have some fun.
The project was funded under the Investing in Our Communities Program.
Under this program, our Government is delivering community and sporting infrastructure, open space improvements and other community priorities intended to assist communities to build their strengths and improve liveability.
For more information on the program visit the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts website.
