BALLARAT GOLF CLUB’S GRANTS WIN
Federal Member for Ballarat, Catherine King today visited Ballarat Golf Club to welcome a grant of $125,000 through the federal Community Sports Infrastructure Grants program.
This grant will be used to upgrade the club’s driving range.
“Ballarat Golf Club is one of our community’s leading sports clubs”, Ms King said.
“It has a long history as Australia’s oldest continually played course, stretching back to 1895.”
“Perhaps most importantly, it is publically accessible, with all in our community being able to come along and play.”
In recent times the club has been going from strength to strength, recently hosting the Australian Ladies Professional Golf Ballarat Icons Pro-Am.
The club has however been held back by the lack of a top-standard driving range.
“This investment will allow Ballarat Golf Club to provide a better offering to members and the public, as well as allowing it to hold more professional events”.
“I look forward to seeing the new facility take shape, and the continued growth and strength of this important local club”.
