GOLDFIELDS RECREATION RESERVE OVAL UP IN LIGHTS AGAIN
The Australian and Victorian governments continue to partner with local governments across the state to deliver high-priority local community infrastructure, with the lighting upgrade at Goldfields Recreation Reserve Oval in the Pyrenees Shire officially complete.
The more than $630,000 project is supported by $236,155 from the Australian Government under the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program, $250,000 from the Victorian Government and more than $145,000 from the Pyrenees Shire Council.
The project, benefiting Beaufort’s sporting clubs, was a significant undertaking and included a full electrical system upgrade, completed by Powercor, to enable the power capacity for upgraded lighting.
The new system and lights meet Australian standards and means that local clubs can train at the oval throughout the year in improved conditions.
Minister for Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government Catherine King will officially open the new lighting project at the Goldfields Recreation Reserve on Friday 2 August at 6pm.
