KING CALLS FOR BALLARAT PROJECT FUNDING
Federal Member for Ballarat, Catherine King has today called on the Morrison Government to commit to important projects across Ballarat.
Ahead of the recent Federal Election, Labor promised to fund important projects across the Ballarat electorate, including:
· $5 million for Her Majesty’s Theatre,
· $14 million for the Ballarat Airport upgrade,
· $5 million for the Daylesford-Hanging Rock Rail Trail,
· $10 million for BIRCH,
· $1.4 million for the Bacchus Marsh Racecourse and Recreation Reserve Active Sports Precinct,
· $500,000 for City Oval Change room upgrades.
“Every one of these projects would make a real difference to communities across our region”, Ms King said.
“These projects would provide economic development, more jobs, better healthcare, better sporting facilities, and protect our cultural heritage.”
“Together, they would make our region a better place to live.”
“Despite this, the Liberals failed to match any of these commitments”.
“Throughout their entire term in Government the Liberals have failed to give our growing region our fair share of investment.”
“The Government is there to serve the entire country – not just marginal and Liberal electorates”.
“It is time for the Government to stop playing games and invest in the urgent infrastructure needs of Ballarat and our region”.
“That is why I have written to the ministers responsible for projects like these, calling on them to put aside our differences and deliver the infrastructure that our community needs.”
