WELCOMING WATER CONNECTION
Federal Member for Ballarat, Catherine King has welcomed today’s announcement that Maude Recreation Reserve and Bunjil Lookout have been connected to the town’s reticulated water supply.
“This is a great initiative led by Golden Plains Shire Council.
“Reliable town water will make a real difference to tourists accessing the camping area as well as locals having a day out with the kids at the local playground.
“Especially as summer heats up, I know a reliable source of town drinking water will be gratefully welcomed by everyone making the most of our beautiful region!”
Ms King particularly welcomed the close cooperation between the Shire and the Wadawurrung Traditional Owners Aboriginal Corporation.
“The Wadawurrung people have looked after this land for thousands of years. Given the importance of this site to traditional owners, it is essential that all changes are carried out with their input and support.
“I congratulate Golden Plains Shire on doing just that.”
