FREE PUBLIC WIFI FOR CLUNES AND CRESWICK
Visitors and residents in Creswick and Clunes will soon have access to free public Wi-Fi thanks to a $15,453 grant through the Stronger Communities Program.
“Creswick and Clunes are both beautiful, historic towns – and now they will have connectivity fit for the 21st century”, Ms King said.
“Visitors and residents alike will have access to free public Wi-Fi through the main thoroughfares of both towns, encouraging more people to spend time at the shops and cafes in the middle of town”.
“This will be a particular win for visitors during events like Clunes Booktown and the Creswick Garden Lovers Weekend who will have access to another communication platform and won’t have to rely on an often-overcrowded mobile network”.
“At the same time, we know many residents struggle with the cost of 4G internet connections, so I am glad that this project will deliver affordable and accessible internet access to more members of our community.”
This project will be jointly funded through the Stronger Communities Program and the Hepburn Shire Council.
The free public Wi-Fi system will be installed in the central areas of Clunes and Creswick, around the locations of the Creswick Hub and Clunes Warehouse, as well as extending down the main thoroughfares.
