$1.5M TO UPGRADE TEESDALE’S DON WALLACE REC RESERVE
Member for Ballarat Catherine King MP has announced that a re-elected Albanese Labor Government will invest $1.5 million towards upgrading Don Wallace Recreation Reserve in Teesdale.
This election commitment will support the revitalisation of the reserve and
help to fund the design and construction of a number of amenities at the site including much-needed female friendly changerooms.
The project, identified as a priority by Golden Plains Shire Council, has also secured $1.5 million from the Victorian Labor Government and this additional funding will now allow the full scope of the project to be delivered.
The project includes:
· Two female-friendly changerooms for home and away games
· Female-friendly umpire changerooms with amenities
· A publicly accessible toilet with baby change facilities
· A first aid room, cleaner’s room and storage space
· Installation of a new septic system
· Power supply upgrade
· Storm water connection, trenching and excavation
· Concrete pathing and landscaping
The Don Wallace Recreation Reserve is a multi-functional community and sports venue used for football, cricket and tennis. The reserve also hosts school sports carnivals and is utilised by residents for informal and unstructured physical activity.
Consistent with past practice, election commitments, this project will be delivered in line with Commonwealth Grants Rules and Principles.
