$500,000 FOR BALLARAT’S CONTINUOUS VOICES MEMORIAL
Member for Ballarat Catherine King today announced that a re-elected Albanese Labor Government will invest $500,000 towards the Continuous Voices Memorial at Victoria Park in Ballarat.
The Continuous Voices Memorial will acknowledge and honour all survivors of sexual assault and abuse. It will be a place of healing and reflection; a peaceful site in the heart of Ballarat.
This election commitment will ensure that this important project has the funds needed for its completion, together with previously announced support from the Victorian Labor Government and the City of Ballarat.
The memorial design has been informed by conversations with more than 50 survivors and supporters who spent 12 months exploring ideas of acknowledgement, memorials and telling survivor stories as part of the Continuous Voices Arts Project.
Their stories have guided the design of the memorial and site, ensuring survivor voices are at its heart.
Consistent with past practice, election commitments including this project will be delivered in line with Commonwealth Grants Rules and Principles.
