BACCHUS MARSH RACECOURSE RESERVE SPORTS HUB MISSING OUT ON FUNDING
Federal Member for Ballarat, Catherine King has today hit out at the Morrison Government for ignoring the people of Bacchus Marsh and Darley.
The population of Bacchus Marsh and surrounds is predicted to grow to 25,000 by 2021 and more than 35,000 by 2041.
This growth is already putting real strain on sporting facilities Moorabool Shire Council identifying a shortage across the community.
“Bacchus Marsh and its surrounds are growing at a rapid rate – but the Morrison Government doesn’t seem to care”, Ms King said.
“We know that there are barely enough sporting facilities to cope with existing demand, let alone future growth”.
“The recent Building Better Regions grants announcement was a perfect opportunity to fund projects like the Bacchus Marsh Racecourse Reserve sports hub, but disappointingly the Morrison Government looked elsewhere”.
“It is hard to escape the conclusion that the Liberals don’t care about Ballarat”.
“We know the Liberals and Nationals are consumed by their infighting, but they should not forget that their government represent all Australians”.
“The Liberals aren’t interested in giving our community the infrastructure that we need”.
