PITCHING IN TO IMPROVE BALLARAT SPORTS CLUB
Federal member for Ballarat, Catherine King today visited North Ballarat Cricket Club to welcome a $4,246 grant through the federal Stronger Communities Program.
This grant will be used to upgrade the club’s cricket pitches.
This is the second federal grant awarded to a Ballarat cricket club in recent weeks, following Napoleons Sebastopol Cricket Club receiving a grant of $5,500 for the purchase of a Flicx portable cricket pitch.
“We all know that sporting clubs are at the heart of many communities”, Ms King said, “and this will allow the North Ballarat Cricket Club to continue to grow and strengthen”.
“Sports clubs encourage healthy living, community participation, and team work.”
“North Ballarat Cricket Club is one of our region’s larger clubs, with teams ranging from 5 year olds starting in the junior blasters competition to the seniors.”
“This grant will allow more to play cricket in better conditions”.
