SEBASTOPOL COMMUNITY HUB STARTING TO TAKE SHAPE
Member for Ballarat Catherine King has joined Member for Wendouree Juliana Addison and City of Ballarat Mayor, Cr Tracey Hargreaves for an inspection of the early stages of work on the new Sebastopol Community Hub.
The new, fit for purpose facility will transform Sebastopol and become a vital part of community life.
The old building was demolished in mid 2024 and the new build has now reached a major construction milestone with the concrete slab about to be poured.
It is expected the structural steel framing will be complete in autumn as the designs start to become reality.
The Sebastopol Community Hub will include:
· -Three 22-place kindergarten rooms
· - A main hall with a 150-person capacity
· -Three meeting rooms with varying capacities ranging from 12-50 people
· -Maternal child health consulting rooms
· - A community kitchen
· -A kindergarten play space and an undercover play area
· -On-site carparking
The project was made possible with a $4.5 million election commitment from the Albanese Government and $4.5 million from the Allan Labor Government through the Building Blocks Capacity program with up to $5 million provided by City of Ballarat.
The project is on track for completion in early 2026.
